“UAE is definitely reflecting the global trend on going organic and choosing 'green' alternatives.” – Isidora Peric founder of The Fit Face.
The Fit Face is a company that is inspired by the practice of facial yoga. They incorporate three key elements: massage techniques, accu pressure points and facial exercises. The founder and Yoga expert Isidora Peric has a lot to say on the natural and alternative industry in the region. She also sources several natural/organic products for her business to recommend to her clients.
Facial yoga is a complete facial workout covering all the muscles of the face which effectively improves skin tone & elasticity, reduces fine lines and wrinkles and detoxifies the skin.
It is often overlooked that our face has 57 muscles, which play a key part in our aging process. Exercising and relaxing those muscles on a daily basis will not only show immediate positive effects but will also allow you to maintain a youthful appearance for many years to come.
Our carefully designed facial yoga class lasts for about an hour and begins with meditation to ensure you start on a positive note. Followed by 20 minutes of rejuvenating yoga stretches for the body to get the blood circulation going. The next 30 minutes will be dedicated solely to your face and will involve a variety of facial yoga exercises which will get you glowing almost instantly! The class ends with a self-applied all natural facial which will be prepared beforehand just for you!
I think the alternative therapy market has really shown significant growth in the last two to three years and I believe it's mainly due to people being much more aware of the ingredients going into commercial products and how they affect their health in the long run. In the UAE, I am very happy to see many skincare and food companies coming out with completely organic products, many of them are also locally sourced. UAE is definitely reflecting the global trend on going organic and choosing 'green' alternatives.
I source organic products locally and globally. I am mostly intrigued by brands with strong symbolism and an inspiring story behind it. For example, I was impressed by Tatcha- a Japanese skincare company that is inspired by the beauty routines of Geishas. I think that is so interesting and most of their products are made of either the foods that the Geishas would eat such as rice and seaweed and flowers that they had access to such as the Camelia flower. I am also really impressed by local brands such as Shea Jar, they offer organic shea butter infused with divine smells such as lavender, vanilla and even Oud.
